Day 1

  • Start your day early by visiting Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is one of the most sacred and iconic Buddhist shrines in Nepal. Enjoy the stunning views of the city from the top of the hill.
  • Next, head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases the city’s rich history, culture, and architecture. Explore the ancient temples, palaces, and museums in the square.
  • In the evening, visit Thamel, a vibrant and lively neighborhood filled with shops, restaurants, and bars. Experience the local food and culture.

Day 2

  • Start your day by visiting Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the largest in the world. This Buddhist shrine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu.
  • Next, visit Pashupatinath Temple, the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Observe the traditional Hindu rituals and cremation ceremonies here.
  • In the afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is located in the city of Lalitpur. This square features ancient palaces, temples, and courtyards that showcase the rich Newari architecture and culture.

Day 3

  • Start your day by visiting the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, which was the former royal palace of Nepal until 2008. This museum showcases the history and lifestyle of the royal family and is an excellent place to learn about Nepal’s monarchy.
  • Next, visit the Garden of Dreams, a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city that was created in the early 1900s. This garden features beautiful architecture, fountains, and lawns that offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
  • In the evening, head to Boudha or Thamel to experience the nightlife in Kathmandu. Enjoy the local food, drinks, and music in one of the many bars or clubs.
